The ATIEL Code of Practice is accepted industry-wide as best practice
for the development and manufacture of engine oils conforming to European ACEA standards.
It has helped to set standards and quality guarantees for lubricants made or marketed by oil companies that adhere to its guidelines.
It provides a benchmark for auditing the development and production
of lubricants and ensuring the validity of performance claims made
for them.
CEC
Management Board has advised that
the CEC L-53-95 test (MIII E20Sludge
Test) is now available again as a
result of the approval of a new
batch of fuel (#11).
Section 2.2.3 of the ATIEL Code of
Practice specifies the required
course of action where a temporary
waiver has been used during the
period when the test was
unavailable.
