The ATIEL Code of Practice is accepted industry-wide as best practice
for the development and manufacture of engine oils conforming to European ACEA standards.
It has helped to set standards and quality guarantees for lubricants made or marketed by oil companies that adhere to its guidelines.
It provides a benchmark for auditing the development and production
of lubricants and ensuring the validity of performance claims made
for them.
Changes to ACEA 2007 Sequences
Effective immediately, the following changes/corrections are made to the ACEA 2007 Oil Sequences.
1. Item 2.5 (third column), page 14: "Oil filter diff. pressure @ EOT" shall be changed to "Oil filter diff. pressure @ 150 h".
2. Footnote 5, page 15 shall read "Mack T11 (ASTM D7156) results obtained as part of a API CI-4, CI-4 plus or API CJ-4 approval program, can be used in place of Mack T8 and T8E.
Sludge Test update
CEC Management Board has advised that the CEC L-53-95 test (MIII E20Sludge Test) is now available again as a result of the approval of a new batch of fuel (#11). Section 2.2.3 of the ATIEL Code of Practice specifies the required course of action where a temporary waiver has been used during the period when the test was unavailable.
